Nested in the northeastern part of India, the Tea Estates in Kailashahar, Tripura are symbolic of the serene and lush landscapes of the region. Tripura, being one of the less explored states in India, offers an authentic tea-tasting experience amidst less commercialized settings. The tea gardens sprawl across undulating terrains and are a sight to behold with their neatly lined rows of tea plants. Workers can be seen meticulously plucking the bright green tea leaves, a testament to the labor-intensive process of tea production. The region's climate, with its ample rainfall and fertile soil, contribute to the unique flavor profile of Tripura tea. A visit to these estates not only presents a tranquil retreat but also an educational journey into the intricacies of tea cultivation and processing. Tourists can interact with the estate workers, understand the challenges of tea farming, and witness the journey of leaves from the plant to the cup.

File photo shows two girls harvesting pineapple at a farm at Nalkata village in Tripura. Photo: Arunangsu Roy Chowdhury Unseasonal cultivation of pineapple, made possible by horticulture scientists in Tripura, is providing more revenue to farmers in the State. “We used ethyl sodium carbonate chemicals for bearing fruit in winter which is not its proper season and we have been successful,” Sujit Saha, a junior scientist of the Horticulture department, said. The department carried out experiments on 30 hectare at a cost of Rs. 6 lakh and was successful, he said. Labourer Firoz Mia in West Tripura cultivated pineapples on one hectare of fallow land encouraged by the Horticulture Department last year and now 5,000 pineapples have ripened in December which means an earning of about Rs. 1,50,000. “Initially I was not interested in cultivation of pineapples, but the officers of the Horticulture Department gave me a lot of subsidies in buying seedlings and also provided technical assistance for using chemicals for untimely bearing of fruit. I have been hugely benefited,” Mr. Mia said. Tripura is now a State with surplus production of horticulture crops like mango, jackfruit, papaya, banana and litchi. A Horticulture and Soil Conservation Department source said the State has a demand of about 2,14,000 tonne for this kind of produce, but the actual production has gone to over five lakh tonne. Generally two types of pineapple are grown in Tripura — Queen variety and Kelenga variety. Of these the popular one is the Queen variety of which production was 40,000 tonnes this year, while the Kelenga variety produced an estimated at 66,406 tonne. The increased production of pineapple-based food products are, therefore, finding markets outside the State. Manager of Piyush Agro Tech, P. S. Chauhan said his company received orders from an Italian company for sending a consignment of 1,02,000 cans of sliced pineapples after its experts ascertained the packaging process. “Tripura pineapples, especially of the queen variety are now regularly going abroad. Canned pineapple slices are being sent to European countries,” Dipen Chowdhury, the in-charge of the processing unit of Piyush Agro Tech said. The North East Regional Agricultural Marketing Corporation (NERAMAC), the central agricultural marketing agency and the Tripura Small Industries Corporation have come forward with mini-fruit processing units.
Eleven passengers were charred to death and nine others are missing as a private bus caught fire after hitting a two-wheeler in Andhra Pradesh's Kurnool in the early hours of Friday. The bus, belonging to a private travel operator, was heading to Bengaluru from Hyderabad and had 41 passengers, including two children, on board, officials said. Nineteen passengers came out by breaking the windows of the Volvo bus of Vemuri Kaveri Travels. The accident occurred around 3.30 a.m. near Ullindakonda in Kurnool district, police said. Kurnool District Collector A. Siri told media persons at the scene of the mishap that out of 41 people on board, they have traced 21. Eleven of these 21 were taken to hospitals in Kurnool. “We are yet to trace 20. Of them, eleven bodies have been recovered. Nine passengers are yet to be traced,” she said. The Collector said the injured were in stable condition. The bus began its journey from Hyderabad around 10.30 p.m., and when it reached near Kurnool on National Highway 44 (NH-44), at around 3:30 am, a two-wheeler rammed into the bus. The motorbike got stuck under the belly of the bus, and this is suspected to have caused the spark. Survivors said the two-wheeler was dragged by the bus for about 300 meters. Most of the passengers were asleep at the time of the accidents. One of the survivors said he woke up to the screams of fire, and he, along with some others, broke the windows to jump to safety. Akash, one of the survivors, said the bus was engulfed in flames within minutes. Most of the passengers on board belong to Hyderabad. By the time a fire engine rushed to the spot, the bus was completely gutted. Police swung into action to shift the injured to hospitals. The Collector said they have to confirm if the bus hit the bike or the two-wheeler rammed into the bus, but the bike went under the bus, and due to the impact of the collision, the fuel leaked, and a skidding spark triggered the fire. Deputy Inspector General of Police Koya Praveen said the fire started from the bike. “The fuel tank of the bus is intact. The fire started from the bike’s fuel tank. As the material under the bus was highly combustible, the fire spread rapidly,” he said. The DIG said that out of two drivers, one was in their custody while the other was yet to be traced. A team of officials, including a doctor, officials from police, fire services, revenue and other departments, were at the mishap site to pull out of the charred remains of the passengers. The DIG said DNA tests would be conducted to identify the bodies.

This article is about the insect. For other uses, see Cockroach (disambiguation). Cockroaches (or roaches[1][2][3]) are insects belonging to the order Blattodea (Blattaria). About 30 cockroach species out of 4,600 are associated with human habitats. Some species are well-known pests. Cockroach Temporal range: Late Jurassic–Present PreꞒꞒOSDCPTJKPgN Common household cockroaches A) German cockroach B) American cockroach C) Australian cockroach D&E) Oriental cockroach (♀ & ♂) Scientific classification Kingdom: Animalia Phylum: Arthropoda Class: Insecta Superorder: Dictyoptera Order: Blattodea Families Anaplectidae Blaberidae Blattidae Corydiidae Cryptocercidae Ectobiidae Lamproblattidae Nocticolidae Tryonicidae Modern cockroaches are an ancient group that first appeared during the Late Jurassic, with their ancestors, known as "roachoids", likely originating during the Carboniferous period around 320 million years ago. Those early ancestors, however, lacked the internal ovipositors of modern roaches. Cockroaches are somewhat generalized insects lacking special adaptations (such as the sucking mouthparts of aphids and other true bugs); they have chewing mouthparts and are probably among the most primitive of living Neopteran insects. They are common and hardy insects capable of tolerating a wide range of climates, from Arctic cold to tropical heat. Tropical cockroaches are often much larger than temperate species. Modern cockroaches are not considered to be a monophyletic group, as it has been found based on genetics that termites are deeply nested within the group, with some groups of cockroaches more closely related to termites than they are to other cockroaches, thus rendering Blattaria paraphyletic. Both cockroaches and termites are included in Blattodea. Some species, such as the gregarious German cockroach, have an elaborate social structure involving common shelter, social dependence, information transfer and kin recognition. Cockroaches have appeared in human culture since classical antiquity. They are popularly depicted as large, dirty pests, although the majority of species are small and inoffensive and live in a wide range of habitats around the world..

Sarhul, the spring festival, holds significant cultural importance for indigenous tribes such as the Mundas, Oraons, and Santhals. Particularly for the Oraon community, it stands out as the largest spring festival observed during the months of March and April. In their native language, it is referred to as “Khaddi,” symbolizing the symbolic union or marriage of the earth. The significance of the forest flower known as sakhua or Sal is paramount as it symbolizes the cultural importance deeply rooted within the forest ecosystem. Despite their inherent significance, forest flowers often go unnoticed, highlighting the need to acknowledge and appreciate their cultural and ecological value. During this festival, reverence is bestowed upon Dharti Mata, as, the wife of Lord Rama encompassing the celebration of all forms of nature. This festival exemplifies the indigenous tribes’ conviction in the autonomy of their nature-centric worship practices which shows their core value of religion different from brahamnical ideologies. It underscores their deep-rooted gratitude towards nature for the sustenance and resources it provides, showcasing a distinct cultural reverence for their environment and its bounty. This festival provides a strong sense of identity, particularly for theOraon tribe who predominantly engaged in agriculture, adheres to Sarnaism as its religious belief system which is not Hinduism revering nature as integral to their spirituality, this community celebrates the festival by offering homage to trees and various natural elements.

In the Computer System (comprises of Hardware and software), Hardware can only understand machine code (in the form of 0 and 1) which doesn't make any sense to a naive user. We need a system which can act as an intermediary and manage all the processes and resources present in the system. An Operating System can be defined as an interface between user and hardware. It is responsible for the execution of all the processes, Resource Allocation, CPU management, File Management and many other tasks. The purpose of an operating system is to provide an environment in which a user can execute programs in convenient and efficient manner.
