On our day 1 of Meghalaya trip, we reached Guwahati airport and rented a car for 9 days for just Rs. 23,000 and we drove towards Umiam lake fro Guwahati to Shillong. After reaching Umiam lake we had a night stay in a boathouse where I paid Rs. 5,000 for per night.

In this Meghalaya trip we rented car(XUV-500) from Guwahati for jut Rs. 23,000 for 9 days.
Shillong is a hill station in northeast India and capital of the state of Meghalaya. Umiam Lake / Bara pani (locally known as Dam sait) is a reservoir in the hills 15 km (9.3 mi) north of Shillong in the state of Meghalaya, India.
Umiam Lake is one of the biggest artificial lakes in Meghalaya that is situated about 15 km from Shillong. It is more easily recognised as Bara Pani.

You need to carry your RT-PCR report while traveling to Meghalaya. If you don't carry the report, you will be asked to do a test in Meghalaya border.
