Daffodils and tulips
In spring, summer and fall, passing drivers and golfers at St. Clair Country Club get an eyeful of flowers in Anne and John Gentryβs garden.
Daffodils and tulips sprout first in beds that line the long, low stone wall, followed by foxglove, delphinium, larkspur, poppies, daylilies, phlox and feverfew. As summer winds into fall, coneflowers, black-eyed Susans, dahlias, wild asters and autumn sedum take their turns.
But it wasnβt her flowers that got Mrs. Gentry recognized at TJ Maxx. She was admiring a 6-foot-tall rooster made from a steel drum and asked another another shopper to take her picture with it on her smartphone.
