Former MoS Pratima Bhoumik offers condolences to Abhirup's family
Former MoS Pratima Bhoumik visited the grieving family of 10-year-old Abhirup Debnath, who tragically lost his life in a road accident on Maha Ashtami night. The incident occurred in Netaji Para, Dharmanagar, casting a pall of sorrow over the entire community.
On Sunday morning, Bhoumik arrived at Abhirupβs residence in Shibnath Lane to console the bereaved family. She stood in solidarity with the mourning parents, offering heartfelt support during their unimaginable loss.
According to reports, Abhirup and his father had stepped out to enjoy Durga Puja festivities when a reckless vehicle struck them both. Despite being rushed to Silchar in Assam for emergency treatment, the young boy succumbed to his injuries. His father is now reported to be out of danger.
The driver of the offending vehicle, Souvik Deb, has been arrested and remanded to judicial custody following court orders. Investigators are reviewing CCTV footage from a nearby marriage hall, which is expected to play a crucial role in the case.
Bhoumik was accompanied by former MLA of Jubarajnagar, Malina Debnath, former Tripura Womenβs Commission Chairperson Barnali Goswami and several local residents during her visit.
The untimely death of little Abhirup has plunged the locality into mourning.
