Nearsightedness

Nearsightedness is a refractive defect that causes objects in the distance to appear fuzzy. It occurs when the shape of the eye causes light to focus in front of, rather than on, the retina (a light-sensitive layer of tissue in the back of the eye). Trouble seeing things that are far away is one of the most prevalent symptoms of nearsightedness.
