Giant kingfisher Bird
Giant and giant kingfishers are the largest kingfisher species in Africa. Their English name is Giant Kingfisher. Their scientific name is Megaceryle maxima. It is a breeding bird that inhabits much of the continent south of the Sahara desert, on the other hand, where it is in the arid southwest. They are about 42โ46 cm (16.5โ18 in) long and weigh 255โ425 g. Like all piscivorous species, they can roam and hunt fish in open water.
