2024 年秋天，小石川後樂園再次舉辦期間限定的夜間特別開放活動「秋之長夜」。

這天傍晚從水道橋出發，走進位於東京巨蛋旁的小石川後樂園。白天的後樂園一直是東京最具代表性的日本庭園之一，但到了夜晚，在燈光與光雕投影的映襯下，整座庭園展現出與白天截然不同的氣氛。

小石川後樂園的歷史可以追溯到江戶時代初期。1629 年，水戶德川家初代藩主德川賴房在此興建庭園，之後由第二代藩主德川光圀持續擴建完成。光圀正是後來被稱為「水戶黃門」的歷史人物，而「後樂園」之名則取自中國北宋范仲淹《岳陽樓記》中「先天下之憂而憂，後天下之樂而樂」的典故。

庭園採用池泉回遊式設計，將中國名勝與日本山水景觀濃縮於園內。其中最著名的景點之一便是圓月橋。這座石橋以橋孔倒映水面形成完整圓月而聞名，也是後樂園最具代表性的景觀之一。夜間開放期間，園方特別利用燈光與投影效果，讓這座江戶時代流傳至今的名橋展現不同於白天的魅力。

除了圓月橋之外，唐門、通天橋、涵德亭以及園內各處步道，也在燈光映照下呈現出寧靜而夢幻的氛圍。最有趣的是，園外就是東京巨蛋與現代都市夜景，而園內卻仍保留著四百年前大名庭園的空間尺度與景觀意境，形成強烈對比。

離開庭園後，也順道散步到東京巨蛋周邊，最後以章魚燒作為這趟秋夜散策的小小句點。

English Description

In the autumn of 2024, Koishikawa Korakuen once again opened its gates for a limited-time evening event known as “Autumn Night”.

Starting from Suidobashi Station, this walk takes us into one of Tokyo’s oldest and most historically significant Japanese gardens. While Koishikawa Korakuen is already beautiful during the day, the special evening illumination transforms the landscape into a completely different experience.

The garden dates back to 1629, when Tokugawa Yorifusa, the first lord of the Mito Domain, began its construction. It was later expanded and completed by his son Tokugawa Mitsukuni, better known in Japanese popular culture as Mito Komon. The name “Korakuen” comes from a famous phrase in the Chinese classic Yueyang Tower Essay: “Be concerned before the people are concerned, and enjoy only after the people can enjoy.”

Designed as a traditional strolling garden, Korakuen incorporates miniature landscapes inspired by both Japanese scenery and famous sites from China. One of its most iconic features is Engetsukyo, the Full Moon Bridge. When reflected on the water below, the bridge forms a perfect circle, resembling a full moon. During the autumn evening event, special lighting and projection effects bring new life to this centuries-old structure.

Other highlights include the elegant Karamon Gate, Tsutenkyo Bridge, Kantokutei Pavilion, and the illuminated pathways that wind through the garden. What makes the experience especially unique is the contrast between the tranquil Edo-period landscape inside the garden and the modern skyline of Tokyo Dome City just beyond its boundaries.

After leaving the garden, I continued my evening stroll around Tokyo Dome before ending the night with a simple takoyaki dinner.
