"Natural materials, especially stone and reclaimed wood, have long been favorites of mine for their grounding, organic qualities," she says, adding that incorporating these features on the ceiling will result in a warm, timeless environment.
Joyner is partial to wood ceilings and foresees those growing in popularity next year. She explains how wood ceilings instantly bring warmth and richness to a space.

"It’s a great way to lend some texture and interest to a room that is designed to feel more neutral as well," Joyner explains.

Wallpapering the ceiling has risen in popularity in recent years and will continue to remain in vogue in 2025, according to Joyner. The color and pattern you select is entirely up to you; go subtle or bold depending on your personal design style.

In addition to looking chic, wallpapering the ceiling and then painting the remaining four walls of a room can be a budget-friendly design tactic, Joyner says, noting that many wallpaper prints are quite expensive.

Jennifer Laouari, the co-founder of Morgan Madison Designs, likes to encompass an entire room in wallpaper when possible, even when square footage is lacking.

"In smaller spaces like foyers, a bold wallpaper wrapping from walls to ceiling creates a fully immersive experience," she says. "No surface is left untouched, ensuring every angle feels considered."

Wood turtle (Glyptemys insculpta)

Wood turtles are 8 inches long. Their shells have a unique design. Each part of their scutes looks like a pyramid. Their shells are brown, while their necks and limbs are color red. They prefer to spend time near water, in the shallow parts. However, you can find them in forests and grasslands. 

Like most turtles, they are omnivores. They are endemic to New England, Nova Scotia, northern Indiana, and Minnesota. Wood turtles are active in the daytime in the spring season4, but they hibernate during the winter season. Also, they can move faster than other turtles at up to 0.32 kilometers per hour.
