White-Throated Sparrow
Bongsong · 9 months ago
They are more common in winter and look like other common sparrows. Although they are commonly seen in winter, they actually come from Canada. Visitor birds visit throughout the year. They can be easily distinguished because their beak and body color is slightly different from other birds. Their full face pattern and white striped plumage make them stand out.

They are grey-brown in color and have sharp lips. Although they are not seen in our country, they are easily seen in America and Canada. They have adapted themselves to the environment where they live. Their size and singing ability depends on the climate of the region. In spring and summer the male birds sing and fly from branch to branch. Thus they attract female birds for mating. Male and female birds look for nests where they can live together.

They have striped spots on their wings and their lips are pink in color. They are found in the eastern part of America. But their number is decreasing day by day. Their place in the list of almost extinct animals or birds is rising from the bottom to the top.

Fox Sparrow
Bongsong · 9 months ago
The name may suggest that they are related to foxes. But in reality it is nothing like that. There is a type of fox that looks like a combination of red and orange. They are so named because they resemble the skin color of the fox. Most sparrows look the same and there is not much variation. However, there are some species of sparrows that are slightly colorful. This color variation is found in the North American region. Although they are supposed to live in thickets or forests, they can be seen around bird nests or feeders near people.
Swamp Sparrow

They are found across the eastern two-thirds of North America. They travel from their breeding grounds as far away as Canada during the summer. In winter they are found again in their native places ie America and Mexico. A swamp forest is a forest that has water and damp areas. Sylhet division has such swamp forest. Swamp sparrows live in damp places and hide behind bushes and trees. However, they have longer legs than other sparrows. Like Swamp Forest, Sundarbans is the mangrove forest of the world.

White-necked Crow (Corvus leucognaphalus)
Ebook · 8 months ago
The White-necked Crow is distinguished by its black plumage, except for a patch of white stretching from its throat to its chest. The lighter hue is hidden since it only occurs on the base of their neck feathers, which are rarely seen.

Roughly the size of a small raven, it measures about 17 to 18 inches long. It boasts a large, slightly curved bill and red iris.

This species primarily dwells in forests and woodlands across specific regions of the Caribbean, notably Haiti and the Dominican Republic. Due to agricultural conversion, hunting, and pest control, this type of crow is already extinct in Puerto Rico. Overall, White-necked Crows are considered vulnerable species by the IUCN.
White-winged Dove (Zenaida asiatica)
Ebook · 8 months ago
The White-winged Dove has a unique appearance with a white stripe on its wings that becomes prominent during flight. Its plumage is gray-brown with hints of pink on the chest, and it has a blue ring around each eye.

The bird primarily lives in desert scrublands and ranges from the southwestern United States to parts of South America. Its diet includes seeds, grains, and fruits; it also feeds on the nectar of the saguaro cactus, which helps pollinate them.

The White-winged Dove's cooing sound, often mistaken for an owl's call, adds to the natural sounds of the region.
White-tipped Dove (Leptotila verreauxi)
Ebook · 8 months ago
The White-tipped Dove can be found in tropical and subtropical forests, mangroves, and savannas. This dove is about the size of a pigeon and has a grey-brown coat with a hint of pink on its chest. Its tail is notable for its striking white tip, and a subtle touch of blue encircles the bird's eye.

This type of dove feeds on seeds, grains, and small invertebrates found on the ground, which helps in seed dispersal and maintaining the forest floor's diversity and health.

Breeding season varies depending on location, and the bird tends to one or two eggs nested in trees or shrubs. The White-tipped Dove is not a migratory bird but may travel on short trips to find food or escape harsh weather.
