If you ever wonder how it feels to land on another planet, the Atacama Desert will give you a hint. The endless desert is shrouded in arid wildlands, enticing rock structures, and a silent void. There are almost no living creatures in the arid, reddish desert. It displays an extreme, inhospitable environment where no animals nor plants could live. However, the Atacama Desert leaves a lasting impression on anyone who visits.

Known as “The Matterhorn of North America,” Mount Assiniboine stands tall in the Canadian Rockies. Its pyramid shape and pristine alpine lakes are a sight to behold. The Indigenous Ktunaxa people called the mountain “Squin K`a-mi,” which means “Stone with a hole.”
Lhotse (pronounced ‘low-tsee’) is found within the Himalayan Mountain Range, on the border between Nepal and the Tibet Autonomous Region of China. It is connected to Mount Everest by a ridge. Both climbers of Lhotse and Everest follow the same initial route to Camp 3 before their paths diverge. Lhotse has three peaks, each of which presents its own challenges, known as Lhotse Main, Lhotse Middle, and Lhotse Shar. The first to reach the peak of Lhotse Main was a Swiss team led by Ernest Reiss and Fritz Luchsinger in 1956. They scaled the mountain’s West Face, which is now the mountain’s typical route.
This could mean having a friend help you hoe, but usually it refers to planting certain species together as a natural pesticide, fertilizer or for other benefits. The strong smell of marigolds keeps many insects at a distance. Have you ever seen a cabbage fly alight on a marigold? Marigolds around the edges of the garden and close to crucifers like broccoli and cabbage tend to keep the cabbage worms and other insects away. This is not fool proof, but may reduce the numbers. It looks nice too.
