The rinkhals (/ΛrΙͺΕk(h)Γ¦ls/; Hemachatus haemachatus), also known as the ringhals /ΛrΙͺΕhΓ¦ls/[4] or ring-necked spitting cobra,[5] is a species of venomous snake in the family Elapidae. The species is found in parts of southern Africa.[1][3] It is not a true cobra in that it does not belong to the genus Naja, but instead belongs to the monotypic genus Hemachatus. While rinkhals bear a great resemblance to true cobras, they also possess some remarkable differences from these, resulting in their placement outside the genus Naja.[6] In 2023, the Zimbabwe population was described as a new species, H. nyangensis.[7]

This picture of a fish with the face of a bovine is doing the rounds of the internet.
Some were calling it the holy fish given the likeness of its face to a cow. While it was speculated where the βholy fishβ was caught, many batted for India.
SO, WHAT IS THE TRUTH?
Well, itβs no wonder that many bhakts online would like to appropriate the fish having being caught in some water body in India, as it would help them further their ideas on the cow, but a search online doesnβt bring this picture on any credible source, and it is very likely that it was βcaughtβ on a photoshop template of someone with too much time on their hands. Well, certainly a fake, but full marks to whoever that brought this out, something straight out of Indian mythology.
