মেনোপজ কী?
একটা বয়সের পরে মেয়েদের ঋতুচক্র বরাবরের মতো বন্ধ হয়ে যায়৷ ঋতুচক্রের বন্ধ হয়ে যাওয়াকেই মেনোপজ বলা হয়৷
মহিলাদের স্বাভাবিক ঋতুচক্র যে বয়সে বন্ধ হয়
আমাদের দেশের আবহাওয়া ও পরিমণ্ডল অনুযায়ী মহিলাদের ঋতুচক্র সাধারণত ৪৮ বছর থেকে ৫৪ বছরের মধ্যে বন্ধ হতে পারে৷ সেই হিসেবের গড় করলে ৫১ বছর বয়সকে মেনোপজের বয়স বলা যেতে পারে৷
মেনোপজ হওয়ার আগে উপসর্গ
মেনোপজের প্রধান উপসর্গ হলো অনিয়মিত পিরিয়ড৷ অর্থাত্ প্রথমেই যে একেবারেই পিরিয়ড বন্ধ হয়ে যাবে তা কিন্তু নয়৷ দেখা যেতে পারে প্রথমে একমাসে দুইবার পিরিয়ড হলো৷ এরপর তিন মাস পিরিয়ড বন্ধ থাকল৷ আবার ফের চার মাস নিয়মিত পিরিয়ড হওয়ার পর আবার বন্ধ হলো৷এছাড়া অন্যান্য উপসর্গগুলো হলো কান-মাথা ঝাঁ ঝাঁ করা বা হট ফ্ল্যাশ, জয়েন্ট পেইন ইত্যাদি মেনোপজের সাধারণ উপসর্গ৷
নির্দিষ্ট বয়সের অনেক আগেই পিরিয়ড বন্ধ
নির্দিষ্ট বয়সের অনেক আগে মেনোপজ হতেই পারে৷একে আর্লি মেনোপজ বলা হয়৷ কিন্তু এটা একেবারেই কম৷ এটা খুব বিরল, যা হয়ত পরিসংখ্যানেও আসে না৷
যাদের আর্লি মেনোপজ হয়
যেহেতু সময়ের অনেক আগেই মেনোপজ হয়ে যায়, ফলে শারীরিক সমস্যা দেখা তো দিতেই পারে৷মেয়েদের শরীরে মূলত দু’টি হরমোন থাকে ইস্ট্রোজেন আর প্রোজেস্টেরন৷ মেনোপজ হওয়া মানে ইস্ট্রোজেন ক্ষরণ সম্পূর্ণ বন্ধ হয়ে যাওয়া৷ এর ফলে পরবর্তী ক্ষেত্রে সন্তানধারণ তো আর সম্ভব হবেই না, তার সঙ্গে খিটখিটে স্বভাব, জয়েন্ট পেইন, মুড ফ্ল্যাশ হতে পারে৷ যাদের অল্প বয়সেই মেনোপজ হয়, তাদের মানসিক অবস্থা স্থিতিশীল থাকে না বলেই পারিবারিক জীবনে বা স্বামীর সঙ্গে সম্পর্কে এর ছাপ পড়তে পারে৷
আর্লি মেনোপজের কারণ
সেইভাবে নির্দিষ্ট করে আর্লি মেনোপজের কোন কারণ নেই৷বলা যেতে পারে সবই প্রকৃতির খেয়াল৷আর একটা কারণ রয়েছে৷ যদিও সেটাও নির্দিষ্ট নয় সেটা হলো হেরিডিটি বা বংশগত৷কোন মহিলার মা, মাসি বা পারিবারের অন্য কারোর আর্লি মেনোপজ হলে জিনগতভাবে এটি হতে পারে৷
মেনোপজের ফলে স্বাভাবিক জীবনে পরিবর্তন
মেয়েদের যৌবন আসারপর জীবনে চারটি পর্যায় রয়েছে৷ঋতুচক্রের শুরু, সন্তানের জন্ম, ব্রেস্ট ফিডিং ও মেনোপজ৷ এগুলো সবই হরমোনের দ্বারা নিয়ন্ত্রিত৷ মেনোপজ হওয়া মানেই হরমোনের ক্ষরণ বন্ধ হয়ে যাওয়া৷ফলে শরীরে কিছু পরিবর্তন আসতেই পারে৷ মেজাজ ঠিক না থাকা জয়েন্ট পেইন ইত্যাদি৷তবে এটা যেহেতু পুরো বিষয়টাই প্রকৃতির ওপর নির্ভরশীল। তাই ধীরে ধীরে পাঁচ-দশ বছর পর শরীর আপনা থেকে এটি মেনে নেয়৷ফলে তেমন কোনও সমস্যা দেখা যায় না৷ অনেকেই মনে করেন, মেনোপজ হওয়া মানেই হয়তো মেয়েদের যৌবন শেষ হয়ে গেল তা কিন্তু একেবারেই নয়৷ এসময় নির্দ্বিধায় তারা যৌনতা উপভোগ করতে পারেন৷ কন্ট্রাসেপশনের ভয়ও থাকে না৷স্বামীর সঙ্গে খোলামেলা সম্পর্কে কোন সমস্যা হয় না৷ কিন্তু এগুলো ছাড়া যদি অন্য কোন ধরনের সমস্যা দেখা দেয়, তবে অবশ্যই চিকিত্সকের পরামর্শ নিতে হবে৷ বর্তমানে বিভিন্ন ধরনের চিকিত্সা পদ্ধতি ও মেডিসিন রয়েছে৷ ফলে তেমন কোন অসুবিধা হওয়ার কথা নয়৷
মেনোপজের সঙ্গে মানসিক স্থিতি
মেনোপজের ফলে ত্বক খারাপ হয়ে যেতে পারে৷ অনেকে খুব মোটা হয়ে যান বা রোগা হয়ে যান৷সেই কারণে অনেকে মানসিক অবসাদে ভুগতে পারেন৷অনেকে মনে করেন, পিরিয়ড বন্ধ হয়ে যাওয়া মানেই হয়ত মেয়েদের যৌবন চলে যাওয়া৷ সেই কারণে মহিলাদের অবসাদ দেখা যায়৷তবে এটা পুরোটাই কল্পিত৷ এছাড়া হরমোনের ক্ষরণ বন্ধ হয়ে যাওয়ার ফলে মেজাজ খারাপ থাকা, হঠাত্ রাগ হওয়া ইত্যাদি হতেই পারে৷ অনেক সময় দেখা যায়, মহিলা যে কথাগুরো বলতে চান না সেগুলোও বলে ফেলছেন৷ এটাও মানসিক ভারসাম্য হারানোর একটি লক্ষণ৷
এসময় মন ভারো রাখতে
মেনোপজের সময় মন ভালো রাখার জন্য মেয়েদের নিজেদেরই সচেতন হতে হবে৷ নিজের সঠিক খেয়াল নিতে হবে৷ সবচেয়ে যেটা জরুরি সেটা হলো মেয়েদের নিজের কর্মজগত্৷ বিভিন্ন কাজের সঙ্গে নিজেকে যুক্ত রাখলে মানসিক অবসাদের সম্ভাবনা থাকবে না৷
মেনোপজ চলাকালীন ডায়েট
