Liatris spicata is an exotic looking hardy perennial with unique bright purple flowers. Native to the North American prairies and sedge meadows, this easy to grow plant makes a wonderful garden addition.

In this video we are planting the corms in a container but they can also be planted directly in the border. We plant the corms quite close together in this container which will be fine for this year but as they grow over subsequent years and fill out, they will eventually need to be given more space to grow.
