বর্তমান সময়ে মানুষের মধ্যে মাছকে পোষা প্রানী হিসেবে রাখা প্রবনতা বেশী দেখা যায়। মাছের ক্ষেত্রে পোষা প্রানী শব্দটি বেমানান লাগে ঠিকই কিন্তু সময়ের সাথে সাথে মানুষের রুচি এবং ইচ্ছার পরিবর্তন হচ্ছে। এজন্য মানুষ মাছকে তার নিজের বাড়ি কিংবা ফ্ল্যাটে অ্যাকুরিয়ামে রাখতে চায়। এতে করে শখ পূরনের পাশাপাশি বাড়ির সৌন্দর্য বৃদ্ধি করে। পোষা প্রানী কুকুর, বিড়াল রাখার জন্য যদি আপনার পর্যাপ্ত পরিমান তবে মাছকে পোষা প্রানী হিসেবে আপনি রাখতে পারেন। কারন অন্য যে কোন পোষা প্রানীর চেয়ে অ্যাকুরিয়ামে মাছ পুষতে জায়াগা অনেক কম লাগে। কুকুর কিংবা বিড়াল পুষতে গেলে আপনাকে অতিরিক্ত সময় দিতে হয় এবং এদের যত্ন নিতে হয় কিন্তু মাছ অ্যাকুরিয়ামে রাখলে খুব বেশি পরিমান সময়ও দিতে হয় না।

Benefits of keeping fish as pets

They are more peaceful than any other animal.  Does not make any noise or noise easily.

এরা দেখতে যেমন সুন্দর দেখায় একই সাথে শান্ত নিস্তব্দ পরিবেশ বজায় রাখে।
অ্যাকুরিয়ামে মাছে রাখার জন্য কোন ধরনের ভেটিনারী ডাক্তারের কাছে নিতে হয় না। কিছু কিছু বিষয় লক্ষ্য করলেই মাছ সুস্থ থাকে।
যাদের মধ্যে দায়িত্বজ্ঞান কম, তাদের দায়িত্বশীল করে তুলতে অনেক সময় বাড়ির ছোটদের টাইম মত মাছকে খাবার দেওয়ার কাজে লাগানো হয়। এভাবে তারা রুটিনের মধ্যে আসলেও আসতে পারে।
অন্যান্য পোষা প্রানীদের বাড়ীতে রাখলে এরা দৌড় ঝাপ করে, বিশৃংখলা সৃষ্টি করে  আবার মাঝে মাধ্যে বাড়ির ফার্নিচার, খাবার সহ অন্যান্য আরও কিছু  ধ্বংস করে থাকে। কিন্তু অ্যাকুরিয়ামে রাখা মাছ এসব ঝামেলা করতে পারে না।

Advantages of keeping fish as pets:

বিদেশী মাছ কিনতে গেলে আপনার মনে পারে এদের দাম অনেক বেশি এবং এই মাছের মেইনটেনেন্স কস্ট বেশি। মেইনটেনেন্স কস্ট বলতে মাছ,মাছের ট্যাংক, মাছের খাবার এবং অ্যাকুরিয়ামের ভিতরের পরিবেশ তৈরি করার জন্য বিভিন্ন বিষয়াদি।
অ্যাকুরিয়ামের মধ্যে যদি লোনা পানির মাছ থাকে তাহলে আপনাকে পানির বৈশিষ্ট্য এবং  PH এর মান ঠিক থাকতে হবে।
মাছ কখনই একই জাতের সাথে ঘুরাফেরা করতে পছন্দ করে না। অন্যান্য কুকুর বিড়ালের ক্ষেত্রে যেটা দেখা যায়।
কিছু কিছু প্রজাতির মাছ বিলুপ্ত প্রায় প্রজাতির অন্তর্ভুক্ত।

What fish can you keep
